Each year, since 2011, the University of Michigan (UM) has sent faculty and students to Kenya to work with Kenyan colleagues on projects across the health care spectrum. The UM Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Public Health, Pharmacy, and Nursing have explored the nature of health services in a developing country and found collaboration opportunities to share the best ideas between the US and Kenya. For the University of Michigan participants, the interdisciplinary focus of the trip is a key benefit. Long conversations late into the night have led to research collaborations back in Michigan and with Kenyan colleagues. See the Trip Reports for more information about projects and areas of interest.
